Weekly Pool Maintenance
Green to Clean
A pool can go green fast in Houston — a broken pump, a stretch of heat while you are traveling, or a skipped month of service, and suddenly the water is a swamp. Our green-to-clean service brings it back.
We have recovered a lot of green pools since 2003, from light cloudiness to water you cannot see the bottom of. Whatever shade of green yours is, we can almost always clear it.
From green to swimmable
Green water is an algae bloom, and clearing it takes more than dumping in chlorine. It takes the right treatment for the severity of the bloom, proper filtration, and follow-through. That is what our green-to-clean service delivers — a real recovery, not a temporary fix.
We start by assessing the pool: how heavy the algae is, the state of your equipment and filter, and what got the pool here in the first place. Then we put together a clear plan to get it swimmable.
How our green-to-clean process works
We test and shock the water, apply algaecide suited to the bloom, and get your filtration running the way it needs to. As the algae dies, we brush, vacuum the debris, and clean or backwash the filter — often more than once — until the water clears.
Once it is blue again, we balance the chemistry to stable, swimmable levels and walk you through what happened, so you know how to keep it from coming back.
Keeping it clear after the recovery
A green pool is almost always a sign that maintenance slipped — sometimes for a good reason, like a trip or an equipment failure. The recovery is step one; staying clear is step two.
Most green-to-clean customers move onto a weekly cleaning or chemical-only plan afterward, so the pool stays swimmable with no effort from them. We will set it up if you want it — and there is no pressure if you do not.
Our green-to-clean service covers
- On-site assessment of the algae and your equipment
- Shock treatment and algaecide matched to the bloom
- Repeated brushing, vacuuming, and filter cleaning
- Final water balancing to swimmable levels
- A plain-English explanation of what happened and how to prevent it
Frequently asked questions
It depends on how far the pool has gone. A lightly green pool can clear in a few days; a deep-green pool you cannot see into may take a week or more of treatment and repeated filtering. We will give you an honest estimate after we see it.
The large majority of green pools can be cleared chemically without draining. Draining is a last resort — for extreme cases or stained surfaces — and we only recommend it when it is genuinely the better option. We will always tell you straight.
Almost always it is a gap in circulation or chemistry — a pump that stopped running, a filter that needed cleaning, or a stretch without chlorine during Houston's heat. We identify the cause during the recovery so it does not simply happen again.
It will, as long as the pool gets consistent care afterward. Most customers move onto a weekly cleaning or chemical-only plan once the pool is recovered, which keeps the chemistry and filtration on track year-round.
